The Weekend Recap
The Weekend Recap: Dreamy Din at Merois, Poolside at the Andaz, Gameday Brunch & Din at Bohème
I thought it would be fun to give you guys an intimate look into one of our LA weekends. We started the weekend early on Wednesday night at Merois, the rooftop restaurant in the Pendry Hotel on Sunset Boulevard, to welcome our best friend’s sister who had come to town to visit. We ended up Sunday night at La Bohème, a cute boho aesthetic restaurant on Santa Monica Boulevard.
Come join us.
First up: Merois at the Pendry. It felt like we were at a good version of one of those overpriced digital Van Gogh exhibits where tourists just go to get pics for the gram. I literally could not stop staring at this art installation in the lobby; see evidence below.
Quick fit pit stop:
This Zara puff-sleeve polka dot dress was thrifted by Sarah for $20.
One sec, you can’t not snap a pic in front of an elevator with a mirror in it…
& On to the food…
On the upper left was delicious yellowtail hamachi sashimi with jalapeños (my fav). Central we have vegetable sushi on crispy rice— the vegetarian at our table loved that. We also were served a delicious roasted eggplant (not pictured— people were hungry and my two Aperol Spritz dulled my photo-taking abilities). Hell, I don’t even like eggplant, and that was my favorite dish.
I would 100% go back to Merois, assuming I find a job or a guy to pay for my dinner. Ambience 11/10 Food 9/10 Price $$$ SOS
Rosé all day: Saturday’s mantra
On Saturday, we headed to the rooftop pool at the Andaz Hotel on Sunset to hang with my best friend & his sister, who was staying at the hotel.
One sec, it’s selfie time. You don’t give a gal a frosé and expect her to take no photos.
All a gal needs is good views and a cabana to be happy. We’re not asking much, right?
Consider this my manifestation for the day:
Another drink? Food? Thanks, Sar. Cheers.
sunday: nfl game day at hi-tops
Hi-Tops is an awesome sports bar along the strip of gay bars on Santa Monica blvd. A lot of these bars are fun to watch games at, but because this one is a sports bar, it has access to every single game. We arrived at around 1pm and got them to put the Buccaneers vs. Falcons game on not one but TWO TVs. Living the dream? We know.
Winning builds an appetite, so check out these game day specials that we ordered: kale caesar salad (because health), garlic fries and grilled cheese with figs.
One of the servers “warned” me about the figs because someone sent it back. But like, who doesn’t love cheese and figs? End rant.
As you can see, I take Game Day and Tom Brady very seriously. Here’s the NFL Week One outfit I wore:

sunday funday cont’d: din at la bohème
It was the last dinner with our best friend’s sister, so we decided to hit La Bohème on Santa Monica blvd. They have a thrifty/boho aesthetic. Basically it’s like if my apartment became a restaurant. The vibes are 10/10, food 10/10, price $$
For apps, we got a charcuterie board and tuna tartare (our go-to order).
For the entrées, Sarah and I both got a Wagyu chicken meatball and truffle alfredo spaghetti (I know). Our friends got avocado toast and their lasagna, which is 10/10.
Finally, for dessert: cheesecake, chocolate chip bread pudding, and a side of matcha ice cream. All were impeccable.
We hope you enjoyed this look into our weekend here in lovely Los Angeles!
Ciao for now x
